| W.Bro. Stan Howarth was delighted to receive a letter from Province offering him the rank of Past Prov. Grand Junior Deacon which would be conferred on him at the Provincial meeting in May 2014. Sadly Stan's deteriorating health ruled out him attending. After discussion with Brian Molyneux the PGM's Special Rep. for the area, an approach was made to our Prov. Grand Master who immediately agreed that the matter deserved special consideration. | |

| Following discussions with Stan's family, arrangements were made to resolve the situation. R.W. Bro.Peter Connolly accompanied by Brian Molyneux, Geoffrey Watkinson and Arthur Sutton, all Past Masters of Freshfield Mark Lodge 1007 visited Stan, and our Prov. Grand Master, after speaking of W.Bro. Howarth's work and commitment to the Mark Degree in general and Freshfield Mark in particular invested him with the collar and jewel of Past Prov. G.J.D. | |
